August 1996 to August 2000: Zetron, Incorporated

Senior Design Engineer

Designed and implemented a Windows SCADA application for use with Zetron hardware to monitor and control systems via radio or telephone.  The program, ULTRAc.W, is fully configurable to suit virtually any system.  Users set up logic decisions to perform real-time analysis and implement automatic control over devices.  The program consists of 70 thousand lines of Visual Basic code, and competes with larger competitor software, enabling Zetron to fill market niches that were previously excluded due to cost.  Responsibilities include all aspects of software development, including:

·     Project management, supervising and mentoring programmers

·     Coding

·     Coordinating field testing and interacting with customers during the test

·     Source Code Revision Control

·     Documentation

Jun 1993-July1996: AMS (formerly Agena Corporation), Seattle, Wa.

Lead Programmer

Three thousand insurance agents use this product of over fifty megabytes of code. Played a major role in the development of this large Windows / OS-2 style message based system for insurance agency management. Responsible for project planning, re-engineering, re-designing and enhancing all areas of the product including creating a facility for downloading and uploading policy information; accounting; user interface, database management and rating integration.

Mar-Jun 1993. Ratelco Electronics, Seattle, Wa.

Real-Time Systems Developer (contract position)

Designed the software for a real time embedded system for monitoring and controlling large telephone company continuous power systems. Integrated with computer hardware engineers. Project included user interface; state machines; database management; alarms; a communications engine for sending alarms to other sites and receiving control information.

Feb 1991-Jan 1993: Multico Rating Systems, Kirkland, Wa.

Director Of Product Development

Directed the programming staff. Re-organized the development structure of the company, making the transition from in-line code to object oriented programming and development, dramatically improving the efficiency of the development cycle. Designed and developed innovative database management techniques and enhanced user interface software for independent insurance agents and insurance carriers. Designed and implemented a system to automatically keep client databases up to date using telecommunications.

Jan 1990-Jan 1991 CMS Solutions, Fresno, Ca.

Senior Programmer Analyst

Designed, developed and coded the automation of the flight information system for a major airline commuter service, including on-site consulting with clients; communications programs, database management and menu driven user interface programs for auditing and updating databases.  Integrated flight information data for better real-time availability; increased efficiency of database management; improved accuracy of data entry; shortened response time to audit and correct data entry errors, and reduced required amount of labor

Apr 1988-Jan 1990 DCA / Cohesive Network, Los Gatos, Ca.

Software Engineer

Designed and developed software for user interface, enabling multiple users to manage complex T1 digital multiplexing networks. Made significant improvements in efficiency and ease of operation. Coordinated with customer service to find out the needs of the customer and enhanced software to meet these needs, resulting in better network management for the user.

Jun 1985-Mar 1988 AMERICAN NETWORK, Vancouver, Wa.

Database Analyst

Managed the development and maintenance of a complete system to automate traffic engineering, routing, trunking and translations for network switching systems. This saved the company millions of dollars in circuit costs, saved thousands of hours of labor, ensured accuracy of database transformations, designed and implemented the user interface.
